Isolation and output ratings — the so-what for signal isolation
Rated for 5000Vrms isolation between input and output, this optocoupler provides galvanic isolation for safety barriers and ground-loop breaking in industrial controls, motor drives, and PLC digital inputs. The transistor output is rated for 50mA continuous current at up to 80V on the collector side — sufficient to drive a PLC input module, a logic gate, or a low-power relay coil directly without a buffer transistor. Current transfer ratio (CTR) is specified at 100% minimum to 200% maximum, tested at 1mA forward current.
Switching speed and temperature range
Rise and fall times are 3.5µs and 5µs typical; turn-on and turn-off times are 6µs and 5.5µs typical. This switching speed suits 50/60 Hz line-frequency isolation, relay driver inputs, and DC signal transfer up to a few kilohertz — not for high-speed data or gate-drive applications. Operating temperature spans -55°C to 110°C, covering most industrial enclosures and some under-hood automotive environments where the ambient stays below the 110°C ceiling.
Supplied in a 4-SMD, Gull Wing package (4-SOP supplier device package), surface-mount for automated pick-and-place assembly.
