5000Vrms isolation in a 4-pin LSOP
It accepts DC input only and switches a transistor output capable of sinking up to 50mA at 80V maximum collector-emitter voltage. The 4-LSOP (2.54mm pitch) gull-wing package is surface-mount ready, suiting it for reinforced isolation barriers in power supplies, motor drives, and industrial digital I/O modules.
Current transfer ratio — gain margin for logic translation
The CTR is specified at 130% minimum and 260% maximum when the LED forward current is 5mA. This range guarantees the output transistor saturates reliably when driving a 5V logic input through a pull-up resistor, even with LED current derated over the -55°C to 110°C operating range. The 400mV Vce saturation max at that drive level keeps the logic-low voltage well within TTL thresholds.
Switching speed and drive timing
Rise and fall times are 3.5µs and 5µs typical, with turn-on and turn-off times of 6µs and 5.5µs respectively. This places the part in the medium-speed class — adequate for 10-50 kHz PWM isolation or status feedback, but not for high-speed serial isolation above 100 kHz. The 1.16V typical forward voltage at 5mA LED current is standard for IR LEDs in this isolation class.
