Dual-channel optocoupler with 4 kV isolation in SOIC-8
The Vishay VOD207T is a dual-channel optoisolator with a phototransistor output, rated for 4000Vrms isolation between input and output. Each channel can switch up to 70 V at 50 mA, with a guaranteed current transfer ratio (CTR) between 100% and 200% at a forward current of 10 mA. The part operates across -40°C to 100°C, suiting it for industrial environments such as motor drives, PLC digital inputs, and isolated power-supply feedback loops where two isolated channels are needed in a single 8-pin SOIC footprint.
The 100%–200% CTR window at 10 mA If means the designer can calculate the output pull-up resistor and LED drive current without sorting parts by bin. At the minimum CTR, 10 mA in gives at least 10 mA out at the collector; at the maximum, up to 20 mA. The 70 V output rating gives headroom for 24 V or 48 V industrial bus levels.
Package and footprint
The dual-channel layout replaces two single-channel optocouplers in DIP-4 or SOIC-4 packages, saving board area and reducing placement cost. Surface-mount assembly with MSL 3 handling applies — bake before reflow if the moisture-barrier bag has been open beyond the floor-life window.
