Isolation barrier and signal transfer
The VO618A-2X009T is a Vishay single-channel phototransistor optocoupler with a 5300 Vrms isolation rating, suitable for reinforced isolation in industrial PSUs, motor drives, and medical equipment where the safety barrier must withstand transient overvoltages. DC input side with a typical forward voltage of 1.1 V and a maximum forward current of 60 mA; the output transistor can switch up to 80 V at 50 mA continuous per channel.
Current transfer ratio and switching speed
CTR is specified at 63% minimum and 125% maximum at 1 mA forward current, giving the designer a predictable gain window for low-drive MCU GPIOs or sensor outputs without overloading the input LED. Typical turn-on time is 4.2 µs and turn-off time is 23 µs; rise and fall times are 3 µs and 14 µs respectively, which suits 10–100 kHz switching applications like PLC input modules or isolated feedback loops.
Temperature range and package fit
Rated for -55°C to 110°C operating temperature, this optocoupler handles outdoor telecom cabinets, engine-bay electronics, and industrial enclosures where standard 0°C to 70°C parts would drift out of spec. Housed in a 4-SMD Gull Wing package (supplier device package 4-SMD), the VO618A-2X009T is offered on Tape & Reel (TR) and Cut Tape (CT) for both reflow assembly and prototype hand-place.
