Gate-driver optocoupler for IGBT/MOSFET stages
The VO3150A-X007T is a single-channel optocoupler from Vishay designed to drive IGBTs and power MOSFETs in motor drives, inverters, and switch-mode power supplies. Its 5300 Vrms isolation rating and 500 mA peak output current suit it for direct gate drive in medium-voltage industrial equipment. The 25 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity means the output stays latched when the inverter half-bridge switches at high dV/dt — a low CMTI part risks false turn-on and shoot-through current.
Switching timing and output drive
Propagation delay is 400 ns max for both rising and falling edges, with a pulse-width distortion ceiling of 200 ns. Rise and fall times are 100 ns typical, which means the gate driver can charge the IGBT input capacitance quickly, keeping switching losses in check. The output supply range is 15 V to 32 V, covering standard gate-drive rails for IGBTs and MOSFETs. The forward voltage is 1.3 V typical with a maximum forward current of 25 mA.
Package and production status
The 8-DIP (0.300-inch, 7.62 mm) body is a standard through-hole footprint — no special reflow profile needed. The 7.62 mm lead spacing matches common DIP sockets or wave-solder pads.
