High-speed digital isolator for industrial and motor-drive interfaces
The Vishay VO2611-X007T is a single-channel optocoupler with an open-drain output, designed for high-speed digital isolation up to 10 MBd. It provides reinforced isolation of 5300 Vrms, making it suitable for breaking ground loops in motor drives, PLC interfaces, and industrial communication links where noise immunity and safety isolation are required.
Key ratings that define the fit
The 10 MBd data rate supports fast serial protocols like SPI or RS-485 isolation without introducing jitter or pulse-width distortion. Propagation delay is symmetrical at 100 ns max for both low-to-high and high-to-low transitions, which simplifies timing closure in bidirectional links. Common-mode transient immunity of 15 kV/µs minimum means the output stays clean when several kilovolts of common-mode noise slam across the isolation barrier — a typical condition in IGBT gate-drive circuits or motor-phase voltage sensing. The 50 mA per-channel output current is enough to drive a logic gate input or a small relay coil directly, but not a heavy load — stay within the 20 mA forward current limit on the LED side.
Package and storage notes
The gull-wing leads are inspectable after reflow and easier to rework than a small-outline package without leads. Store the reels dry — MSL rating is not listed here, but optocouplers in this package class typically ship at MSL 3 or higher, so bake before reflow if the moisture-barrier bag has been open past the floor-life window.
Lifecycle and compliance — no near-term EOL concern
The active status means you can plan multi-year builds without worrying about a sudden discontinuation notice.
