10 MBd open-drain optocoupler with 5300 Vrms isolation
The Vishay VO2601-X007T is a single-channel, 10 MBd optocoupler with an open-drain output, packaged in an 8-SMD gull-wing package for surface-mount assembly. It is designed for high-speed digital isolation where a logic-level output with wired-OR capability is needed, such as in fieldbus interfaces, motor encoder feedback, and isolated communication links in industrial and medical equipment.
The 5300 Vrms isolation rating qualifies the VO2601-X007T for reinforced insulation in applications that demand a safety barrier between primary and secondary circuits — think medical patient-contact interfaces, industrial motor drives with high-voltage DC links, or grid-tied power converters. The minimum common-mode transient immunity of 5 kV/µs tells you the output holds its state when a fast voltage transient slams across the isolation barrier; in a variable-frequency drive switching IGBTs at 10–20 kHz, that 5 kV/µs floor keeps the data line from glitching. If your system sees higher dv/dt — some SiC or GaN stages exceed 50 kV/µs — you will need a part with a higher CMTI spec.
10 MBd data rate and open-drain output — bus compatibility
At 10 MBd the VO2601-X007T handles Profibus DP, DeviceNet, and similar fieldbus speeds comfortably, with a propagation delay of 100 ns max and rise/fall times of 23 ns and 7 ns typical. The open-drain output lets you wire multiple optocoupler outputs to a single pull-up resistor for shared interrupt or fault lines — common in multi-axis servo drives or PLC input modules.
