What the 5000Vrms isolation means for your isolation barrier
The TCDT1102G is a single-channel optocoupler with a phototransistor output, rated for 5000Vrms isolation between input and output. That isolation voltage is the deciding spec for applications where you need a reinforced barrier — think motor-drive feedback, PLC digital inputs, or medical patient-interface circuits where a fault on the high-voltage side must not reach the low-voltage control logic. The 6-DIP through-hole package (0.400" pin spacing) gives you the creepage distance to support that rating in real PCB layouts without slotting the board.
