Dual-rail POL regulator in a single package
The Vishay SIC402ACD-T1-GE3 is a dual-output power management IC from the microBUCK® series, combining one synchronous step-down (buck) converter and one linear (LDO) regulator in a single 32-pin PowerPAK® MLP55-32 package. The buck channel delivers up to 10 A from a 0.6 V to 5.5 V adjustable output, while the LDO provides a separate 200 mA rail adjustable down to 0.75 V — a common pairing for powering a digital core plus an analog or I/O supply from one input rail. Input voltage spans 3 V to 28 V, covering 5 V and 12 V intermediate bus rails used in telecom, networking, and industrial equipment.
Switching frequency and thermal envelope
The switching frequency is programmable from 200 kHz to 1 MHz — a 500 kHz setting balances inductor size against switching losses for most 10 A point-of-load designs, while 1 MHz shrinks the magnetics for space-constrained boards. The PowerPAK® MLP55-32 package uses an exposed thermal pad on the bottom; the PCB layout must connect this pad to a copper plane with sufficient vias to keep the junction below the 85°C ambient ceiling at full 10 A load.
