Single-channel optocoupler with 5300Vrms isolation
The Vishay SFH6156-3X001T is a single-channel phototransistor optocoupler in a 4-SMD Gull Wing package, rated for 5300Vrms isolation between input and output. It accepts DC input and provides a transistor output with a current transfer ratio (CTR) guaranteed between 100% and 200% at a forward current of 10mA.
The 100% to 200% CTR range at 10mA forward current defines the gain margin for logic-level coupling. A CTR below 100% may not saturate the output transistor sufficiently for TTL/CMOS inputs, while a CTR above 200% can cause slow turn-off due to excess base charge. Typical rise and fall times are 2µs each, with turn-on at 3µs and turn-off at 2.3µs — adequate for 10-100 kbps isolated data links or low-frequency PWM feedback. The 400mV maximum Vce saturation at the rated output current ensures low voltage drop when the transistor is fully on.
