Standard recovery rectifier for automotive power stages
The Vishay SE20NG-M3/I is a standard recovery rectifier diode rated 400 V reverse voltage and 2 A average forward current, housed in a DFN3820A surface-mount package with wettable flanks.
The SE20NG-M3/I is a standard recovery diode with a reverse recovery time (trr) of 1.2 µs. This places it in the >500 ns recovery class, suited for 50/60 Hz line rectification, DC freewheeling clamps, and low-frequency snubbers rather than high-speed PFC or flyback converters. The 12 pF junction capacitance at 4 V bias keeps the switching loss manageable in automotive relay and solenoid drivers.
AEC-Q101 and the wettable flank package
AEC-Q101 qualification covers the full automotive stress suite — high-temperature reverse bias, temperature cycling, and humidity. The DFN3820A package uses wettable flanks, which means the side terminations accept solder fillets visible to automated optical inspection (AOI). This is a practical advantage for automotive lines that require solder-joint inspection on bottom-only terminal packages.
ROHS3 compliant.
