5300Vrms isolation in a quad SMD package
The Vishay ILQ615-1X009 is a quad-channel optocoupler that packs four independent transistor-output channels into a single 16-SMD gull-wing package. Its 5300Vrms isolation rating is the headline number — that is enough galvanic isolation for industrial motor drives, medical patient-interface barriers, and power-supply feedback loops where you need to keep the high-voltage side separate from the control logic. Each channel can switch up to 70V at 50mA, which covers most PLC input modules, relay drivers, and logic-level translation tasks.
CTR window and switching speed
Current transfer ratio is specified between 40% and 80% at a forward current of 10mA. That is a tight enough window to design a reliable logic interface without over-driving the LED or worrying about saturation at the output. Typical turn-on time is 3µs, turn-off 2.3µs — not a high-speed digital isolator, but fast enough for 100 kbps serial links, status feedback, and PWM gate drive at a few kHz. Rise and fall times are both 2µs typical, so the output edges are symmetrical.
Temperature range and field-service reality
Rated from -55°C to 100°C, this part handles the full military temperature range on the cold side and industrial hot-side environments. That means it is a candidate for outdoor telecom cabinets, engine-bay electronics, and any retrofit where the original part ran hot. The 16-SMD gull-wing package is rework-friendly with a standard hot-air station — no BGA, no hidden pads. On a customer site with just a soldering iron and a flux pen, you can swap this part if the board has through-hole or SMD pads accessible.
Lifecycle and compliance
Listed as Active in the lifecycle stage, so this is still a standard production part — no last-time-buy pressure, no need to stockpile for legacy BOMs. It is ROHS3 compliant, which clears it for current RoHS-regulated markets without an exemption. The DC input type means it works with standard logic-level signals; no AC line coupling concerns.
