The GSIB2540-E3/45: The Vishay GSIB2540-/45 is a single-phase bridge rectifier rated for 400 V peak reverse voltage and 3.5 A average rectified current — it converts AC to DC in a compact, through-hole package that fits standard 4-SIP footprints. Housed in the GSIB-5S package (4-SIP), it mounts through a single hole in the PCB and is supplied in tubes for automated or manual insertion.

The 400 V peak reverse rating (Vrrm) means this bridge handles 240 VAC mains rectification with margin — the peak of a 240 VAC sine wave is about 340 V, so the 400 V rating covers normal line variation and moderate transients without derating. At 3.5 A average rectified output, the bridge supports loads like small motor drives, power supplies, and battery chargers in the 300–400 W range; the actual DC output current depends on the capacitive filter and ambient temperature. Forward voltage is specified at 1 V maximum when carrying 12.5 A — this is a surge condition, not continuous; at the rated 3.5 A average, conduction losses are lower, but the 1 V figure at 12.5 A gives a sense of the die's resistive drop under high instantaneous current.
