TVS protection window and clamping performance
The 1N6275A-E3/73: The 1N6275A-/73 is a unidirectional TransZorb® TVS diode — Vishay's trademarked avalanche-suppression Zener design — specified for transient overvoltage protection in general-purpose circuits. The 1500 W peak pulse rating (1.5 kW) is the critical differentiator from standard Zener diodes — it means the part is qualified to absorb a defined surge energy without degradation, making it suitable for inductive kickback and ESD event protection rather than just voltage reference duty.
Temperature grade and surge environment
The -55°C to 175°C junction temperature range places this part firmly in the industrial and automotive-adjacent thermal envelope — the upper limit is the junction, not the ambient, so the derating curve against ambient temperature in the datasheet is the go/no-go check for any deployment inside an enclosed panel or near a heat source. Unidirectional only — one polarity — so it does not protect against reversed DC rails. For bidirectional AC line protection a different polarity configuration is required; this part is designed for single-polarity DC rail clamping.
