Transient protection in a SMC package
The 1.5SMC7.5CA-M3/9AT: At 6.4 V typical reverse standoff, the part sits above the rail it protects and activates only when a transient exceeds the 7.13 V breakdown threshold, clamping the peak let-through to 11.3 V at 133 A peak pulse current. Bidirectional clamping means it suppresses both positive and negative transients on the same line — useful on differential pairs, AC-coupled nodes, or anywhere the bias point sits near ground.
Surface-mount tape-and-reel packaging suits automated placement in volume production; the DO-214AB footprint is a standard pad geometry compatible with most SMC-compatible layout templates.
