Automotive-grade transient protection — AEC-Q101 is the gate
The 1.5SMC400AHE3_ALL: The 342V reverse standoff voltage sets the DC operating ceiling: the protected rail must never exceed 342V in steady state, or the diode begins conducting leakage current. Clamping at 548V maximum under peak pulse current limits the voltage seen by downstream components during a surge event.
380V breakdown, 548V clamp — the protection window
Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 380V, so the diode stays off below that threshold. The 548V maximum clamping voltage at 2.7A peak pulse current defines the worst-case voltage the load sees during a transient — critical for selecting downstream capacitor voltage ratings and MOSFET BVdss margins. The DO-214AB (SMC) package footprint mates with standard surface-mount pads and supports reflow soldering without special handling.
