The 1.5SMC36CAHE3/57T: It clamps at 49.9V maximum from a 30.8V reverse standoff, making it a direct fit for protecting 24V nominal automotive power buses or signal lines against load-dump and inductive surge events. AEC-Q101 qualification means this part has passed the automotive-grade reliability screening — temperature cycling, high-temperature reverse bias, and ESD robustness — for under-hood and cabin deployments where ambient temperature can hit 150°C junction.
When a surge pushes the voltage above 34.2V minimum breakdown, the device starts clamping and holds the peak at 49.9V while shunting 30.1A — enough to absorb a 1500W pulse without the downstream circuitry seeing more than 50V. The bidirectional channel means a single device clamps both positive and negative transients — useful for AC-coupled signal lines or any rail where reverse polarity protection is needed without adding a series diode.
