The 1.5SMC27CA-M3/57T: A single bidirectional channel means the TVS clamps symmetrically in both polarities — useful for AC signal lines, bipolar supplies, or any pair where the transient can swing positive or negative relative to ground. The same device replaces two unidirectional TVS diodes back-to-back, saving board area and reducing the component count on a 24VAC sensor input or a ±15V analog rail.
