The 1.5SMC250AHE3_ALL: Its 214 V reverse standoff voltage and 344 V clamping point at 4.4 A make it a fit for protecting 24 V nominal automotive bus rails against load-dump and inductive kickback transients that exceed the steady-state rail. The breakdown is guaranteed at a minimum of 237 V, so the device stays off the line under normal battery and alternator regulation, then clamps fast when a transient pushes the bus above that threshold. Single unidirectional channel, DO-214AB (SMC) package — the same footprint as the JEDEC SMCJ outline.

AEC-Q101 qualification and temperature range

This part is AEC-Q101 qualified and marked for Automotive applications — it has passed the stress tests (HTRB, H3TRB, preconditioning) required for deployment in engine compartments and chassis modules. No power line protection (the device is not designed for continuous overvoltage clamping on AC mains), but for DC bus transient suppression it is a standard choice. The 1.5SMC series uses the TransZorb® silicon-avalanche structure, which delivers consistent clamping across the rated temperature range.
