Pulse rating and derating for real-world transients
The 1.5SMC24CAHM3/H: 1500W peak pulse at 10/1000µs is the standard TVS rating — the 45.2A peak current at 33.2V clamping tells you the diode absorbs a 33.2V spike at that current without failing open or short. No power line protection — this is a signal or low-power rail clamp, not a mains-side suppressor. Use it on 20.5V nominal rails (like 24V automotive or 24V telecom supplies) where transients ride on top of the DC bus.
Automotive (AEC-Q101) qualification and the TransZorb® construction make it a drop-in for 24V truck, bus, or heavy-equipment ECU designs that already specify the 1.5SMC24CA footprint.
