AEC-Q101 qualified 1500 W TVS for 15.3 V rails
The 1.5SMC18CAHE3/57T: It clamps at 25.2 V maximum with a 59.5 A peak pulse current, protecting a 15.3 V nominal rail from transients up to that energy level.
Clamping parametrics and operating envelope
Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 17.1 V, ensuring the TVS activates before the protected circuitry sees damaging overvoltage on a 15.3 V standoff line. The junction temperature range spans -65 °C to 150 °C, covering the full automotive thermal profile from cold crank to under-hood soak.
Package, footprint, and supply format
Housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package, also designated as supplier device package SMCJ, with a standard JEDEC footprint for automated assembly. Mounting is surface mount only; the SMC package requires a copper land pattern per Vishay's application note for adequate thermal transfer during the 10/1000 µs pulse.
