Bidirectional TVS for 145V rails
The 1.5SMC170CAHE3/57T is a bidirectional Zener-type TVS diode from Vishay's 1.5SMC series, built on the TransZorb® platform. It clamps transients on a 145V nominal rail — the reverse standoff voltage (VRWM) is 145V, meaning it sits across the line without conducting until a surge pushes past that threshold. The breakdown voltage range starts at 162V minimum, and clamping is held to 234V maximum at Ipp — a tight clamp-to-breakdown ratio that keeps downstream silicon safe.
AEC-Q101 and the DO-214AB footprint
This part carries AEC-Q101 qualification — the automotive-grade stress and reliability screening for discrete semiconductors. The -65°C to +150°C junction temperature range covers under-hood and engine-bay thermal profiles with margin. Housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) package, also designated as supplier device package SMCJ.
