1500W Zener TVS in DO-214AB
The 1.5SMC160A-E3/57T: It clamps transients at 219V maximum from a 136V reverse standoff voltage, making it a fit for protecting 120VAC or 130VDC rails against surge events up to 6.8A peak pulse current.
Clamping parameters and transient protection
The 219V clamping voltage defines the maximum voltage the downstream circuitry sees during a 10/1000µs surge — a figure that drives the derating margin for the input capacitors and downstream semiconductors. The 6.8A peak pulse current rating at the 10/1000µs waveform is the current the TVS can shunt without exceeding its 1500W peak power limit. For shorter pulses (8/20µs), the peak current capability is higher; for longer disturbances, the energy must be derated per the datasheet curve.
Package and board integration
Available on tape and reel or cut tape, the packaging suits both high-volume pick-and-place and prototype builds.
