With a 12.8V reverse standoff voltage, it sits on a nominal 12V bus and stays transparent until a surge pushes the line above 14.3V, where breakdown begins. The clamping voltage holds at 21.2V maximum while shunting 70.8A of peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform) — enough to absorb load-dump and inductive kickback events common in engine-bay and chassis electronics. The -65°C to 150°C junction temperature range covers cold-crank starts and under-hood heat soak without derating the 1500W pulse capability.
