The 1.5SMC11CA-M3/57T: The 9.4 V reverse standoff voltage protects a 9 V or 12 V rail that sees transients up to 15.6 V clamping — the TVS stays transparent under normal bias and only conducts when the line exceeds the standoff threshold. Bidirectional clamping means a single device handles positive and negative surges equally — no need for back-to-back series zeners on a bipolar signal line or AC-coupled interface.
It is supplied in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package, also designated as the SMCJ footprint. The tape-and-reel packaging (M3/57T suffix) is suited for automated pick-and-place assembly.
