What the clamping numbers mean on the bench
The 1.5SMC110CAHM3_A/H: The 152 V maximum clamp at 9.9 A tells you the peak voltage the downstream silicon sees during a surge. For a 24 V nominal rail, that 152 V is well inside the 200 V typical breakdown of a downstream DC-DC converter's internal FET — but if the load is a 5 V logic rail fed by a linear regulator, the TVS alone won't protect it; you need a second-stage clamp or a series resistor to drop the energy before the regulator.
