Bidirectional 1500 W TVS for 12 V automotive rails
The 1.5SMC10CAHM3_A/H: It is qualified to AEC-Q101, making it suitable for automotive and telecom applications where transient suppression on a 12 V nominal rail is required.
Clamping voltage and breakdown window
The minimum breakdown voltage is 9.5 V, so the device starts conducting between 9.5 V and the clamping voltage of 14.5 V. This window sits above the 8.55 V standoff — the rail sees no leakage at nominal voltage, but the diode turns on fast enough to catch a transient before it reaches the protected IC. The bidirectional configuration (one channel) means a single device clamps both positive and negative surges, saving board space compared to back-to-back unidirectional parts. The DO-214AB (SMC) package footprint is standard; the copper pad area under the cathode tab sets the thermal impedance for repetitive pulse trains.
Temperature range and qualification
The operating junction temperature range spans -65°C to 150°C, covering the full automotive under-hood and cabin temperature envelope. Power line protection is not supported (the part is intended for signal and low-power supply rails, not mains or high-current bus clamping). The Tape & Reel packaging is standard for automated pick-and-place assembly.
