TransZorb® bidirectional TVS for 77.8 V rails
The 1.5KE91CA-E3/73: Its reverse standoff voltage of 77.8 V means it stays transparent below that level, then breaks down at a minimum of 86.5 V and clamps at 125 V maximum under a 12 A peak pulse current (10/1000 µs waveform). The bidirectional configuration (single channel) protects lines that carry both positive and negative swings relative to ground, such as AC signal pairs or DC rails where polarity reversal is possible.
Peak pulse power and clamping margin
The 125 V clamping voltage gives a 47.2 V margin above the standoff rail — enough headroom to keep downstream components below their absolute maximum ratings during a surge event. The DO-201AA axial package (DO-27 equivalent) is through-hole mounted, suitable for point-to-point wiring or PCB layouts where the lead bend absorbs mechanical stress.
Active production — sourcing posture
Listed as Active by Vishay, so the 1.5KE91CA-/73 remains a current-production part.
