1500 W peak pulse, 77.8 V standoff — the TransZorb TVS for 72–90 V rail protection
The 1.5KE91A-E3/54: Clamping at 125 V max, it sinks 12 A of peak pulse current — sized to protect 72–90 V DC rails in telecom, industrial, and aerospace power buses where a single surge event must not propagate upstream.
Breakdown margin and clamping ceiling
The 86.5 V min breakdown sits 8.7 V above the 77.8 V standoff — a 1.11× ratio that keeps the diode off during normal rail ripple while firing fast on an overvoltage event. The 125 V clamp ceiling at 12 A means the downstream converter sees a peak well under its 150–200 V input rating, giving margin for repetitive surge stress. Operating junction temperature spans -55 to +175 °C — the full military temperature grade. In an unpressurised avionics bay or a telecom outdoor cabinet cycling from -40 to +85 °C ambient, the junction stays within safe derating.
DO-201AA axial lead — board-fit and procurement notes
Through-hole DO-201AA (DO-27) package, axial leads. The 1.5KE body diameter and lead spacing are standard for 1.5 kW TVS — fits existing PCB layouts for the 1.5KE family without a footprint change. Supplied on tape-and-reel for automated insertion, or cut tape for prototype builds.
