Device identity and qualification
The 1.5KE82CAHE3_A/C: The AEC-Q101 grade means the device has passed the stress tests and reliability screening required for under-hood and chassis-mounted electronics — temperature cycling, high-temperature reverse bias, and ESD robustness are verified per the automotive discrete semiconductor standard. The 77.9 V minimum breakdown voltage defines the avalanche threshold; below that the device presents high impedance and does not conduct.
Package and board integration
Supplied in the DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead through-hole package. The 1.5KE body diameter and lead spacing match the standard footprint for this power class — the lead bend radius and hole diameter on the PCB should follow the Vishay application note for the TransZorb® series to avoid stress on the glass passivation at the lead exit. Operating junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, covering the full automotive temperature envelope including the 150°C continuous soak typical of engine-bay locations. The 175°C absolute maximum allows headroom for transient thermal spikes during a surge event.
