Clamping voltage and peak current
The 1.5KE8.2-E3/54: With a reverse standoff of 6.63V and a minimum breakdown of 7.38V, this part protects a 5V or 6V rail from transients; the 12.5V maximum clamping voltage at 120A peak pulse current means the protected circuitry sees no more than 12.5V during a surge event. The 1500W peak-pulse rating (10/1000µs) is the energy-handling ceiling — for shorter pulses the part absorbs more peak power; for longer pulses it must be derated per the TransZorb datasheet curve.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
Available through independent surplus and broker channels. The axial DO-201AA package is standard, so existing board layouts with a through-hole TVS can accept this part as a drop-in replacement for stock already on the shelf.
