1.5 kW bidirectional TVS with AEC-Q101 traceability
The Vishay 1.5KE7.5CAHE3_A/D is a bidirectional TransZorb® TVS diode from the Automotive series, carrying full AEC-Q101 qualification. The 7.13 V minimum breakdown voltage ensures the avalanche region is entered before the protected circuitry sees damaging overvoltage. The DO-201AA (DO-27) axial through-hole package mates with existing board layouts using the 1.5KE supplier device package footprint.
Protection window and pulse capability
The 11.3 V clamping ceiling at 133 A means a 24 V truck battery transient that punches through the 6.4 V standoff is clamped more than 2 V below the abs-max of many 5 V-rated ASICs. The single bidirectional channel handles both positive and negative polarity surges without needing two diodes in anti-series — a BOM simplification for AC-coupled CAN or LIN bus protection. Power line protection is not supported (the device is intended for signal and low-power rail clamping, not continuous DC rail crowbar). The Zener type designation references the avalanche breakdown mechanism; the TransZorb® construction delivers the 1.5 kW peak pulse rating with low leakage below the standoff voltage.
