1500 W bidirectional transient suppressor for 5.8 V rails
The 1.5KE6.8CAHE3_B/C: It clamps a transient at 10.5 V maximum when the peak pulse current reaches 150 A, protecting a 5.8 V nominal rail from overvoltage events.
Clamping voltage and breakdown tolerance
The reverse standoff voltage is 5.8 V typical — the rail voltage below which the diode draws negligible leakage. Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 6.45 V, ensuring the TVS does not conduct during normal 5 V or 5.8 V supply operation. Maximum clamping voltage is 10.5 V at the rated 150 A peak pulse current.
Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead through-hole package, the 1.5KE footprint is a standard two-lead form factor that inserts into a 0.100-inch pitch board layout. The axial leads handle the thermal cycling of high-peak-power events without cracking the solder joint — a known risk with smaller surface-mount TVS packages under repetitive surge conditions. Power line protection is not supported (the part lacks the low-inductance internal construction for direct AC mains clamping), so it is intended for DC rail and signal-line transient suppression, not for primary AC power entry.
