Active production — 1500 W TransZorb for DC rail clamping
The 1.5KE6.8A-E3/73: The 6.45 V minimum breakdown voltage and 5.8 V reverse standoff make this part suitable for clamping transients on 5 V DC rails where the nominal operating voltage sits below the standoff threshold.
Breakdown, clamping, and pulse current envelope
The Zener breakdown is specified at 6.45 V minimum; the reverse standoff voltage of 5.8 V means the diode remains non-conducting below that DC bias, so it does not load a 5 V supply rail during normal operation. At the 1500 W peak pulse rating the diode clamps to 10.5 V maximum while conducting 143 A — this clamping voltage is the peak the protected circuit must survive without latch-up or oxide rupture. Single unidirectional channel; the cathode band on the DO-201AA axial package marks the anode for correct polarity insertion on a DC bus.
DO-201AA axial package and temperature range
Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial leaded package, the part mounts through-hole — the lead diameter and body length match standard 0.100-inch pitch board layouts common in power entry and telecom line cards. Junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, covering industrial enclosure ambient and the self-heating from repetitive pulse trains without derating below the 1500 W single-pulse capability.
