Obsolete — sourcing through surplus and broker channels
The 1.5KE56C-E3/54: Available through independent surplus and broker channels; quantities are lot-specific, and date-code spread and packaging condition (sealed reel vs repackaged) are confirmed at RFQ time.
Bidirectional protection in a single axial package
A single bidirectional channel means the same device clamps transients of either polarity — no need to series two unidirectional TVS diodes back-to-back, which saves board space and reduces part count on a 48 V or 36 V rail. The 1500 W peak pulse rating at the 10/1000 µs test waveform is the standard industrial surge rating; for shorter pulses (8/20 µs) the peak power capability is higher, but the clamping voltage at the actual surge current is the parameter that determines whether the protected load stays within its safe operating area. General-purpose application classification means it is not optimized for power-line protection (no internal power-line protection circuitry) — it is intended for signal, data, and DC rail transient suppression where the standoff voltage matches the normal operating voltage.
