Clamping performance in the DO-201AA package
The reverse standoff voltage is 40.2V, and breakdown starts at 44.7V minimum. The 64.8V clamp means a 40V nominal rail sees transients clipped just under 65V — enough margin for most 60V-rated downstream components, but tight if the rail already rides high on tolerance. The 1.5 kW pulse rating handles short-duration surges typical of load-dump or inductive kickback in automotive 12V/24V systems. The DO-201AA axial-lead package is through-hole — it survives the reflow oven fine but needs a hand-solder or wave-solder step; no tombstoning risk with the axial body.
