Transient protection envelope
The 1.5KE47A-E3/73: The 40.2V reverse standoff voltage means a 40V DC rail sits safely below the avalanche threshold; the 44.7V minimum breakdown voltage is where clamping starts. This is the part that catches a load-dump or inductive kick before it reaches the downstream silicon.
Package and board-fit
Through-hole axial package in DO-201AA / DO-27 form factor — the 1.5KE footprint is a standard across TVS families. The leads solder into a plated through-hole board; the body stands off the board surface. No special pad geometry beyond the standard DO-201 land pattern.
That covers the full industrial temperature band and reaches into automotive under-hood environments where the ambient near the ECU sees 125°C and the junction climbs higher under surge. The TransZorb series is built for repetitive surge duty in power supplies, motor drives, and automotive load-dump protection.
