Through-hole package and board integration
The DO-201AA axial-lead package (9.1 mm body length, 5.3 mm diameter typical) requires a 1.3 mm diameter hole per lead on the PCB. The lead spacing is 8.9 mm. For a 1500 W transient, the recommended copper pad area under each lead is at least 30 mm² per side to keep the lead-to-board thermal resistance below 60°C/W. The part is supplied in Tape & Box (TB) format — 500 pieces per box on a 52 mm tape width — suitable for hand-insertion or semi-automated assembly lines. No power line protection is built in, so this TVS is intended for signal and low-power supply rail clamping only.
