TVS diode, not a Zener regulator
The 1.5KE400CA/54 is a bidirectional TransZorb® transient voltage suppressor, not a Zener voltage regulator — the series name TransZorb is Vishay's trademark for TVS diodes designed to clamp fast overvoltage transients, not to provide steady DC regulation.
Protection threshold and operating range
The reverse standoff voltage is 342 V — the rail voltage below which the diode remains non-conducting in normal operation. Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 380 V, and clamping is specified at 548 V maximum under the 2.7 A peak pulse current. The operating junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, covering military and industrial thermal environments without derating concerns at the extremes.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
Available through independent surplus and broker channels. Quantities are lot-specific; each RFQ is confirmed against current inventory holdings. No pin-compatible replacement from Vishay is documented, so a board-level redesign may be required for long-term sustainment.
