1500W Transient Suppressor for 24V Automotive Rails
The 1.5KE36HE3/54 is a 1500 W peak-pulse Zener TVS diode from Vishay's TransZorb® series, designed to clamp transients on 24 V nominal automotive power buses. Its 29.1 V reverse standoff voltage sits above the steady-state rail, while the 32.4 V minimum breakdown triggers clamping before the downstream electronics see damage.
Clamping Performance and Pulse Handling
The 1500 W rating assumes the standard 10/1000 µs pulse; shorter pulses (8/20 µs) allow higher peak current before the junction temperature limit is reached. The single unidirectional channel protects one rail polarity. For bidirectional clamping on AC-coupled or bipolar lines, two devices back-to-back or a dedicated bidirectional TVS would be needed.
Obsolete Status and Sourcing Reality
Availability and pricing are confirmed at RFQ against the required quantity. The DO-201AA axial package is a common footprint, so parametric equivalents from other manufacturers (same standoff voltage and peak power) can be evaluated as functional replacements, though a board spin is not required if the replacement shares the same package outline.
