Clamp voltage and pulse current — the protection window
The 49.9V maximum clamp voltage at 30.1A peak pulse current defines the upper limit a downstream device must survive. For a 30.8V rail, the 19.1V margin between standoff and clamp means the TVS absorbs the transient before the protected IC's absolute maximum rating is reached — provided the PCB layout keeps parasitic inductance below 20 nH between the TVS and the protected pin.
