1500W surge clamp for 30.8V rails
The Vishay 1.5KE36CAHE3/51 is a 1500W bidirectional TransZorb TVS diode in the axial-lead DO-201AA package. It clamps transients on a 30.8V nominal rail to 49.9V maximum while conducting 30.1A of peak pulse current (10/1000 µs waveform).
Protection window and bidirectional layout
The reverse standoff voltage of 30.8V means the diode draws negligible leakage below that rail level. Breakdown starts at 34.2V minimum, and clamping is guaranteed at 49.9V maximum — a 15.7V window from standoff to clamp that keeps downstream silicon inside its safe operating area for most 36V-rated parts. A single bidirectional channel protects both polarities, simplifying layout on AC-coupled signals or bipolar supplies where two unidirectional diodes in anti-series would otherwise be needed.
