Lifecycle reality for the BOM line
The 1.5KE24-E3/54: Any replacement requires a parametric cross-check against the original protection window: 19.4 V reverse standoff, 21.6 V minimum breakdown, 34.7 V maximum clamping at 43.2 A peak pulse.
Protection window and what it means for fit
Clamping at 34.7 V maximum means the TVS limits a transient to that voltage before the surge current reaches 43.2 A. For a 24 V nominal bus, the clamp margin is roughly 10 V above the rail — tight enough to protect downstream silicon rated for 40 V or higher.
Package and deployment envelope
Housed in a DO-201AA / DO-27 axial-lead package, through-hole mounted. The operating junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, covering industrial and military-grade thermal environments — outdoor telecom cabinets, motor drive DC buses, and power supply input stages. Single unidirectional channel — polarity matters in the layout. The cathode band on the package must face the positive rail; reverse insertion defeats the protection.
