TVS clamp for 24 VDC rails
The 1.5KE22C-E3/73: Its 17.8 V reverse standoff voltage and 31.9 V clamping ceiling make it a fit for protecting 24 VDC power buses and signal lines where the normal rail sits below the standoff and the clamp triggers before the downstream circuitry sees damage.
Clamping parametrics and the so-what
Breakdown occurs at 19.8 V minimum, so the device stays transparent below that threshold. The 1500 W rating is the peak pulse power at the 10/1000 µs test waveform — derate for shorter pulses or higher ambient temperatures per the TransZorb datasheet curve.
Obsolete — sourcing through surplus channels
Vishay lists this part as Obsolete. The 1.5KE series is broad, but a direct drop-in requires matching the breakdown window, clamping voltage, and bidirectional polarity — a parametric search against the 19.8 V min breakdown and 31.9 V clamp is the starting point for a substitute. Available through independent surplus and broker channels. No stock-holding claim — sourced per order.
