Obsolete — last-time-buy sourcing
The 1.5KE11AHE3/51 is marked Obsolete by Vishay.
Clamping specs for a 12V automotive rail
The reverse standoff voltage is 9.4 V, so it sits across a 12 V nominal automotive bus without conducting in normal operation. Breakdown occurs at 10.5 V minimum, and the clamping voltage at peak pulse current is 15.6 V maximum — the protected circuitry sees no more than that during a transient.
AEC-Q101 and the TransZorb series
Part of the Automotive, AEC-Q101 qualified TransZorb series. AEC-Q101 certifies the device for automotive-grade stress screening and reliability — relevant for under-hood or body-control modules that must survive load-dump and inductive-switching transients. The operating junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, covering the full automotive ambient envelope. Peak pulse current capability is 96.2 A for the 10/1000 µs waveform. This figure, combined with the 1500 W power rating, tells you the surge it can absorb before the junction temperature exceeds the limit.
Package and board fit
Through-hole mounting in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package. The axial body is 1.5KE series standard.
