1.5 kW pulse rating and automotive qualification
The 1.5KE10HE3/54: Its 8.1V reverse standoff voltage and 15V clamping (at 100A peak pulse current per 10/1000µs waveform) protect 12V vehicle bus lines from load-dump and inductive-switch transients. A single unidirectional channel in the DO-201AA axial package handles the surge without secondary clamping.
Parametric guard bands for the 12V rail
Minimum breakdown voltage of 9V ensures the TVS does not conduct during normal 12V battery float (13.8V typical). The 15V clamp limits the peak voltage seen by downstream electronics to a level that most automotive-rated ICs (40V abs-max) can survive. AEC-Q101 qualification means the part passed the full automotive stress battery: temperature cycling, high-temperature reverse bias, and ESD robustness per the standard. The TransZorb® construction uses a glass-passivated junction for stable avalanche breakdown over life.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
Vishay has marked the 1.5KE10HE3/54 as obsolete. The part is available through independent surplus and broker distribution; each lot is verified for traceability and stored in original packaging.
