Obsolete 1.5kW TVS — what it means for your BOM
The 1.5KE10CHE3/73: This is a 1500W (1.5kW) peak pulse power Zener TVS, clamping at 15V max on a 100A 10/1000µs surge. The 8.1V reverse standoff means it sits across a 5V or 8V rail and stays off until the transient exceeds the 9V minimum breakdown voltage.
What the ratings mean for fit
The 100A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform) tells you the diode can sink that current without failing open. The clamping voltage of 15V max at Ipp means the protected rail sees no more than 15V during the event.
Automotive-grade TransZorb® pedigree
Part of the Automotive, AEC-Q101 qualified TransZorb® series — this means it passed the stress tests and reliability screening required for automotive ECU, sensor, and module applications. The AEC-Q101 stamp is the authority signal for production parts in vehicle electronics. Through-hole DO-201AA (DO-27 axial) package — hand-solderable on a perfboard or protoboard, and easy to replace in a repair scenario. The axial leads fit standard 0.100-inch pitch holes.
