Obsolete — last-time-buy window closed
Vishay has marked the 1.5KE10CAHE3/51 as Obsolete. For existing BOM lines, supply is limited to independent-distribution surplus and broker-channel inventory — each lot is traceable and quoted per RFQ.
1500W pulse clamp for 12V automotive rails
The 8.55V reverse standoff voltage sits below a nominal 12V battery rail, so it stays transparent during normal operation and only conducts when a transient pushes the line above the 9.5V minimum breakdown threshold. Clamping is at 14.5V maximum — well within the typical 36V load-dump survival requirement of downstream ECUs.
Bidirectional — one device covers both polarities
A single bidirectional channel means the same part protects against positive and negative transients on the same line. The 103A peak pulse current rating (10/1000 µs waveform) gives the energy-handling margin for inductive-load dump and alternator field-decay events common in engine-bay and chassis wiring.
DO-201AA axial — board-fit and replacement note
The operating temperature range spans -55°C to +175°C, covering under-hood ambient plus self-heating at rated pulse power. Mounting is through-hole — no reflow profile to manage, but the axial leads require manual or wave-solder assembly.
