1500W peak pulse in an axial DO-201AA package
The 1.5KE10A-E3/54: It clamps transients at 14.5V maximum while standing off 8.55V DC continuously — a tight clamp ratio that keeps downstream silicon inside its safe operating area during surge events. The axial DO-201AA (DO-27) package suits through-hole board layouts where leaded retention and high surge current handling are preferred over surface-mount alternatives.
The 14.5V clamp ensures that even a 103A peak pulse (10/1000µs) does not exceed the absolute-maximum input of downstream regulators or transceivers. The single unidirectional channel is polarity-sensitive — it conducts only on positive transients above breakdown. For bidirectional protection on AC or bipolar signal lines, a pair of these or a bidirectional variant is needed. Power line protection is not supported (the part is not designed for continuous AC mains clamping).
