Galvanic isolation for gate-drive and industrial I/O
The TLP5772(TP,E is a single-channel push-pull optoisolator from Toshiba, designed to pass a DC logic-level signal across a 5000Vrms isolation barrier with a typical rise time of 15ns and fall time of 8ns. With a common-mode transient immunity of 35kV/µs minimum, this part holds its output state when the ground reference on one side of the barrier jumps at high dV/dt — the condition that causes ordinary optocouplers to glitch in motor-drive and inverter circuits.
Timing and supply margins for the BOM
Maximum propagation delay is 150ns in both directions (tpLH and tpHL), which sets the floor for dead-time insertion in a half-bridge PWM controller. The 10V to 30V supply range on the output side lets the part run directly off a 24V industrial bus or a 15V gate-drive rail without a local regulator. Forward voltage is 1.65V typical at 8mA maximum input current, so the LED side can be driven from a 3.3V or 5V logic output through a series resistor without exceeding the MCU's current budget.
